Jeff Soto's Blog

Here is a blog of a working artist in Riverside. I was at a workshop that he spoke at and was impressed with what he had to say about being a professional working artist. I came across his blog while I was perusing the RAM (Riverside Art Museum) website and wanted to share it with you all. I too have a dream of one day being a professional working artist. You can view his art on his blog ...

Jeff Soto's Blog: "Been painting much more lately, feeling much freedom. Working on wood, paper, canvas, cheap scrap paper, exploring, using ink, watercolors, trying new stuff. It's been very liberating. Working on some new stuff for a few group shows and something big at the end of the year. Check at the end of this blog for more info."

Travel

I had never heard of this place before reading about it on SFGate's website. I love coming across little gems like this place and I hope one day to visit - any other takers????

THE ISLANDS OF BRITISH COLUMBIA / Vancouver's artistic 'commuter isle' / Bowen, only 45 minutes away by ferry, is home to young gourmets, old hippies: "Bowen is a craggy, teardrop-shaped, 20-square-mile island just northwest of Vancouver; including the ferry ride, you can be there from downtown in 45 minutes, traffic willing. That makes it all the more remarkable that it has the same artsy, funky, mellow wilderness qualities as Washington's San Juans and British Columbia's Gulf Islands - and the same mix of old-timers, hippies and young urban refugees enjoying a calendar stuffed with down-home festivals, markets and community celebrations."

This is my First Post

Welcome to my new blog - I plan on using this blog to post my art work and any thoughts I might have that are interesting or not interesting - that remains to be seen ... thank you for visiting ... :)
